Hoping that Hong Kong would be a bit quieter over the bank holiday (most people bugger off to china), we headed off to see Tai O, the village on stilts, one of the few sights of hong kong that I hadnt seen yet.
We drove up to Tung Chung, parked at the housing estate car park, and had lunch at the shopping center there. - Zara as usual demanded ice cream...., after that we caught the bus to Tai O, - the only other way to get there is a intermitant ferry from Tuen Mun, or getting a ferry to Mui wu and then taking a bus from there. Either bus ride takes about an hour.
When there, theres a nice walk around the houses, and we saw the HK fire services and countryside guys put out a hill fire, using brooms and helicopters..
Not a bad day out - although those beaches are looking a lot nicer these days..
